by anon-a4e4 Yes, it's the point of the Confession (that you can say anything without fear of earthly consequences) and there isn't any flexibility according to Catholic teachings. Throughout history people have confessed murders and other high crimes. Nothing has really changed, but society may not be willing to accept that anymore. In which case it may mean the demise of the Confession (how common is it, anyway??).
