By Steven Vanwormer Every living organism on earth is part of the "food chain." Does anyone think hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken nuggets or french fries didn't used to be alive? Don't kill more than you need to eat and eat what you kill. I believe that hunters have the right to hunt but should never waste good food!

By Michael Linkroum The question was are you for or against hunting for sport, not food like for example, trophy hunting,in which most of the carcass probably is left to rot!

By Steven Vanwormer I am acquainted with dozens of American sportsmen that hunt. Several of them are family members. None of them (not even one) would consider wasting any of the carcass, even if they themselves only keep and preserve the trophy portion. Nothing usable is wasted, not ever. The issue is not the "one or the other" kind of thing the question implies. I am strongly in favor of hunting. I am strongly opposed to waste.
