Should Israel unilaterally withdraw from parts of the West Bank?

Israel's defense minister Ehud Barak has suggested that Israel take unilateral actions in the West Bank in the face of a prolonged impasse in peace talks with the Palestinians. While vague on specifics, Barak's idea is assumed to involve an Israeli withdrawal from heavily populated Palestinian areas for both security and demographic reasons. This would be similar to the way Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005. The proposal has been blasted both by the Palestinians and right-wing Israeli politicians. What do you think?
