If your child exhibited clear warning signs that he might want to become a school shooter would you tip off authorities or try to deal with it at home?

By Wallace Freeman What's the point of telling the government anything? Its impotent, incompetent and is told too much already. The TSA misses 98% of the test weapons and devices sent through airport screening. The government fails to enter relevant information into its own NCIC system it uses for background checks and the Federal Bureau of Incompetence can't stop a school massacre if told of its probability beforehand. The Supreme Court has even ruled that its not the duty of law enforcement to "protect and serve" you but only to enforce the law (Gonzales vs. Castle Rock). You're on your own so if you want anything done right PREPARE TO DO IT YOURSELF.

By Kevin Basner The government that YOUR PARTY created, moron!
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman ...because they're so much more competent in the high crime Democrat enclaves of Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC and New Orleans. Government is a failed concept that only screws things up more with increased doses. Thomas Jefferson was correct in his observation that that government is best that governs least. That's why Republicans are marginally better than Democrats and Libertarians beat them both. Let the Libertarians form a government without Democrats or Republicans if you want to see a good one.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman true there is much incompetency in government, your reasoning is basically to throw the baby out with the bathwater, if your car isnt running you dont light it on fire and go back to using a hors, you get your forcking engine repaired dum ass
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman instead of obsessing over what does not work why dont you study what does and copy that? http://nordic.businessinsider.com/heres-everything-that-sweden-is-the-best-in-the-world-at--and-its-a-whole-lot-2017-6/

By William Dykeman we have made a boat load of money, of course its all in off shore accounts now, thanks
sucker

By Kevin Basner Stop deflecting and calling me a hypocrite for pointing out facts!
Picture?type=square
By Kevin Basner @Wallace: if you hate government so much then stop using and abusing its resources and expecting liberals to do the same when they never do!
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Government has no resources that it doesn't steal from the rightful owner.
Picture?type=square
By Mark Tracey This is more about the protection innocents and the family member from errant deadly behavior then a trust in government issue. Do you feel you could stop an event such as we witnessed by your self?
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Not involving the government is the best thing anybody can do to avoid the errant deadly behavior that characterizes government activity.
Picture?type=square
By Mark Tracey With mental illness it is not connected to governments behavior. If a situation escalated out of hand, are you prepared to take action to stop deadly behaviors of a family member against those outside your family?
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Yes, I am armed
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman thanks for letting us know about that
would you like to list them too?
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman The list changes from time to time but the core of of the tool box consists of a .22 for inexpensive practice, a .308 to reach out and touch things, a 12 GA for around the house social work and a 9mm for everyday carry. Any additions stay in those calibers though operating systems, magazine capacities and rates of fire may vary.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman is the 308 bolt or semi are we talking m14( m 1 a ) ?
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman One is bolt, one is semi-auto, one is full auto.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman you know the full auto needs to be registered is it registered?
Despite the Federal Ban, Machine Guns are Still in Circulation
Although federal law prohibits the possession of newly manufactured machine guns, it allows the transfer of machine guns lawfully owned prior to May 19, 1986, if the transfer is approved by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF). As a result, a substantial number of machine guns are still in circulation. As of November 2006, the national registry of machine guns contained registrations for 391,532 machine guns.4 In 2006, ATF seized 1,280 unregistered machine guns.5
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman we will allow you to keep the bolt action rifle as long as you register it and apply for a license
all handguns and self loading rifles will be confiscated
or grand fahtered it may be counterproductive to round up weapons
one solution is to allow people to keep their guns and merely prohibit the sale of new ones
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Machine guns obviously don't "need" to be registered to work.
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman What you may allow or demand is irrelevant to reality.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman you just keep telling yourself that scooter
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman true , but let me express an anecdote, in 1933 the nation was plagued with mass shootings, gangsters commiting crimes bank robberies massacres like the st valentines day massacre of 1929, drive by shootings etc so forth then in the 1934 a law required all automatic rifles and saw off shotguns be registered.. check the history books crimes commited with such weapons evaporated over night.. thats a fact, you cant dispute..and the over all violent crime rate dropped like a lead ballon..also booze was legalized..and as it did alcohol consumption started up agin during prohibitition alcohol consumption dropped 50% , but the violent crime rate droped radically over all..it wasnt booze it wasnt the depresion it was hethe guns and once automatic weapons were restricted crime dropped as criminals were afraid to have them, the mere possiesion of an unregistered automatic weapon got you 20 years in the slammer,, if we added semi automatic weapons to title 2 we could cut violent crime by over half in a matter of 2 or 3 years

By William Dykeman Australia’s homicide rate is declining
Through its National Homicide Monitoring Program, the Australian Institute of Criminology has outlined the trends in homicides for the financial years 2012-13 and 2013-14. In this period there were 487 homicide incidents involving 512 victims and 549 offenders.

The national homicide rate has decreased from 1.8 per 100,000 people in 1989-90 to 1 per 100,000 in 2013-14.

For Indigenous people, the homicide rate was much higher at 4.9 per 100,000 in 2013-14. The Northern Territory had the highest homicide rate in Australia, with 6.5 per 100,000 for 2013-14.

While there are differences in data collected by each country, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes International Homicide Statistics database allows Australia’s homicide rate to be compared to other countries (see the chart below). https://theconversation.com/three-charts-on-australias-declining-homicide-rates-79654
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman you are the reason these things happen
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman People failing to take personal responsibilityfor their own safety and the safety of others in the faulty belief that "it takes a village" and abdicating their personal responsibility, and others right to arm themselves, to the village idiots who are always minutes away when seconds count, are the reason these things happen.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman we have resposibility for each other, how can you even say that? some lunatic got a hold of a machine gun, and people like you made it easy for him to get that gun, there is blood on your hands people are sick of your bullshirt, theres no reason why any semi automatic rifle should be legal
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman You are contradicting yourself in your statement. If it is true that we have a responsibility to one each other and there are lunatics with machine guns killing others, how are the rest of us supposed to fulfill our responsibility to others unless we have the necessary firepower to stop those lunatics with machine guns?
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman by allowing the police to do their job
paying your taxes
and registering and licensing your fire arms
or just turn them in
the lass guns there are
the less violence there will be
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman That's slavery, not responsibility.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman Do some reading about what slavery was really like torture mutilation, rape, seeing your children sold and taken from you, you americans are so spoiled, you call taxation slavery, you should live as a slave lived for one week just to realize your privilege
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman police and military are specifically trained to handle things like this
not you
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Their training would not seem to enable them to do as satisfactory a job as the armed citizen. They cower outside the scene while unarmed victims are slaughtered if they even get there in time to do anything.

Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman you know 4 cops hid behind their cop cars for 4 minutes before a swat team arrived, why would armed citizens be more effective than a bunch of fat corrupt cops? this is fantasy, there were armed guards in florida..they ran and hid while children died
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Precisely because no one else can be counted on to preserve ones life like ones self, every person with an interest in their own safety needs to be armed and prepared as best they can without any interference from government which has repeatedly shown itself to be impotent and incompetent.

By William Dykeman no man is an island
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman thats like saying if one company produces a poor automobile the solution is to go back to riding in a horse and buggy, just buy a fz8ck*ng volvo the swedes have the most effective government we all need to be like sweden not somalia
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Again,, when the world becomes populated exclusively by Swedes perhaps more governments will be able to work like Sweden's. Until then we'll have to hope for more immigrants from Norway than the shitholes of the world.
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman my god what a lovely thought, altough you know singapore is a close second in honesty and efficency there are very clean efficent governments in the world look at the germans!
Picture?type=square
By Mark Tracey With all these options you seem to find superior, why are you still in the US?
Picture?type=square
By William Dykeman waiting patiently to sieze power.. what else?
Picture?type=square
By Mark Tracey We are neither Sweden or Somalia. It’s easy to have effective government when the majority of the country is the same race, heritage and culture. It’s a much bigger achievement when your have the diversity of race, heritage, nationalities, cultures, religions, political backgrounds as in the US, and still keep Democratic Republic together.
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman What an epiphany! You mean the US isn't Sweden, Norway, Germany or Singapore? Who'da thought!
Picture?type=square
By Mark Tracey No, I mean effective governmental control is easier ina monoculture.
Picture?type=square
By Wallace Freeman Very true, and the US isn't now and will probably never be one so effective governmental solutions to anything can be dissmissed out of hand .
