I believe this is all getting off the subject. I think if one belongs to a certain religion and it is feeding his or her soul, then go for it. If it begins to go against some of your own conclusions about life, make a change to somewhere your soul is fed. Remember, God doesn't make junk. And he loves us each and every one. And his message was to love everyone...lets go for that instead of all this criticism. We may need to agree to disagree about the subject...doesn't mean we have to hate or criticize...Each of us has our own relationship to the Divine Beloved...let's respect that in each other.
Having worked in schools for most of my life heading up general support groups, I am certain some bathroom arrangements can and should be make. This was a painful decision for someone to make especially if they are still in their teens. But the feelings are sooooo intense that they feel they have to do it. More power to them. Now the need our support to be who they really are as is true for all students and at times difficult for them to get to this decision as they discover who they really are. As parents, teachers, social workers, counselors, it is our job to be supportive to all these kids and give compassionate support to them. They don't need to have to fight to go to the bathroom. Let's help the schools to figure out which bathroom will be theirs so there is no bullying, name calling, etc. It isn't that difficult.
