I don't think that the Justices should have lifetime terms. That's not fair. And very often they are totally out of step with where the people are at. Let them serve for 4-6 years and then term limits should apply. I dread the effects of what the Supreme Court will do to this country in the coming years because Trump is picking the justices.
It's not rocket science. If you don't want to be called a rapist, don't rape. Do not go one single step further than she says is OK. Do not let her go one single step further than you feel OK about. Be sensitive to both verbal and nonverbal cues. When she says "no" or "stop" take it literally. It's very, very simple and it works all the time.
Socialism is well and alive in many countries and it is working quite well. Communism is also alive and well but working awfully in some countries. Socialism allows for belief in G-d and is a very moral system. Capitalism is very inhumane and cruel, which is why I am a democratic socialist (not a Libertarian like Bernie S). I believe in MLK,, Jrs. nonviolent form of protests. Respectfully and morally, I agree to disagree.
I never thought it possible, but yes there are people I know and love who liked/like Trump. I am a virulent and bitter critic of Trump. But somehow we agree to disagree. Because I have known these people for a very, very long time and I KNOW they are not racists or haters and I KNOW they respect women and minorities of all kinds, I cannot just categprize them as hateful. Likewise they respect my passion and know that it stems from a deep patriotism that makes me protest. Sometimes we are uncomfortable but we put up with it for the sake of our love. If we did not agree to put this aside, the relationships would be damaged. I don't subscribe to the idea that all Trumpies rot. G-d knows I despise Trump. I don't think I could make new friends with Trumpies or stay married to a person who was one, but I have to give these other folks in my life a pass.
Wow interesting. No prochoice people joined this discussion--just all the religious fanatics and hate mongers. A person can be prochoice and yet see that there are not good reasons for an abortion--spiritually, humanely, physically, emotionally, etc.
It depends. If it's a defect that would make the fetus nonviable, an abortion would make sense. If the defect is one that could be taken care of, it does smack of Nazi eugenics. I'm prochoice, but I agree with the Pope about this aspect of abortions.
