Kevin, you have been told that we won't accept you continuing to circumvent the language filters in this way. We don't want that on the site. You didn't use it to insult anyone in this case so we're not going to ban you but the next time you use the F word in this way you will no longer be able to use the site. Why is that so difficult for you?
You can stop writing to various places asking for Tok Staff to be less biased (or fired). There is only one problem here and that's your refusal to follow simple rules. Or to understand what a warning is. It's doubtful if there is one user that will be upset if we ban you because you offend everyone - liberals and conservatives alike - and even, bizarrely, the people who pay to allow you to use this free service (Tok Staff).
So despite saying we wouldn't warn you again, we are warning you again - also inviting anyone who wants to speak up in defense of Kevin, as the jury is currently deliberating... (this is a discussion site, after all!)
How is that now going to get you suspended? And the continued unprovoked attacks. Last warning, really - you won't be allowed back, so stop or be banned. It's really not so hard - do you lack any self-control?
Kevin, you have specifically been warned not to violate the language filters in exactly this way. Your alter ego has been suspended - why are you forcing us to take action against you? Out of courtesy to your long usage of the platform we make this another warning, but it really isn't hard - just stop.
Just a correction - we are not owned by Facebook. We are fully independent. John we'd welcome Congressional hearings - it would be wonderful PR for our fundraising efforts, let us know if you can arrange that. Now please, everyone be civil, John, you can hate everyone you want but don't insult the other users and don't circumvent the language filters and no incitement to violence of any kind (including reminiscing about previous violence you've been engaged in).
William don't make things more difficult by baiting your opponents into bad behavior - we do take that into account and in the end just have to block a series of comments.
Thanks and keep on Tokking!
Kevis was banned. As was Janznice. Kevin and John are still with us - we hope they get the message and tone down their behavior. Tok is meant to give all sides of the debate a voice and make it easy to find people to support or opponents to confront (with facts, logic and persuasion!).
Kevin we've suspended Kevis for one week - we want to make sure you know that the reason is that you continue to violate various clear rules that we repeatedly warned you about, most recently inappropriate language via violating the language filter. Kevin, you can keep posting if you do not violate the rules that we have clearly warned you about. The Kevis user will be reinstated in a week on probation.
FYI we have also suspended Janznice for a week for similar reasons.
Message for Kevin, who is not answering his email: we generally don't warn people in public, but you're on the verge of being suspended and perhaps this is a good warning to others. You are ignoring our warnings including ignoring our requests to stop trying to bypass the language filter (you were specifically told about this) stop attacking other users for just having an opinion, as well as stop multiposting in the center and more.
This is your last warning - further offenses will result in your temporary suspension for a week and then a permanent ban if you relapse. Other users who have been warned - take note.
If your response is to attack us - as it has been in the past - you will also be suspended.
We encourage the free exchange of ideas and opinions and a very active and free debate about them, but we are also trying to create a more civil environment in which those discourses can occur.
Sorry for the confusion - but the votes on the top include people who just voted and didn't leave a central comment (some still comment on the threads). Sometimes it can be extreme where most of the comments are green while the red is well in the lead (for instance). It often depends on the topic, where people may want their vote to count but not to be publicly outed for their views (or to comment).
In short, we're pretty sure it's working correctly, but let us know if you can detect situations where you actually vote twice and we'll check the bug (you can write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org)
